Former LSU Tiger McKowen signs with Red Sox
Kade Keowen, who transfered to LSU-Eunice after 2006 fall practice, signed with the Boston Red Sox. Keowen, who was Boston's ninth-round pick, batted .401 with 10 homers and 61 RBI for LSU-Eunice this past season. Keowen, an outfielder, had 16 doubles, six triples and stole 14 bases. In the 2006 season at LSU, Keowen had one hit in six at-bats. Keowen was the second LSU baseball transfer to sign with a professional team. Pitcher Daniel Forrer, who went to Auburn-Montgomery, signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates (32nd-round selection).
